I finished up the rainbow baby quilt, just in time for the baby shower on Sunday and dashed outside to take some pictures in between showers. It's been WET here in Melbourne!
I wasn't sure what to go with for the binding - the checked navy print that I had originally picked out didn't look right so in the end I went for little white elephants on a very dark navy background. If I had taken more care with measuring and cutting the binding they would all be facing the right way up but I didn't so some are upside down and back to front! Never mind, I still think it looks cute. As I was a bit pressed for time I machine-stitched the binding to the back by stitching in the ditch on the front. Again, it's not perfect but it looks mostly OK.
It's backed with some blue and quite polka dot and quilted with randomly spaced vertical lines. I hope the mum-to-be likes it!
I've just found it again!
That is adorable, love the rainbow idea/effect! And the elephants are so cute...
